Born and raised in Toronto, Paul was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1994 and to the Federal and State Bars of Michigan in 1990, having obtained a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Laws in United States and Canada, respectively.

Paul’s practice has focused exclusively in the area of civil litigation, with particular emphasis in the area of insurance law. His practice is broadly based and includes cases addressing motor vehicle personal injury, policy coverage, bad faith, product liability, commercial and property liability, child sexual abuse matters as well as conflict of laws and contested jurisdiction cases spanning American and Canadian claims. He also complements his practice with litigation touching upon commercial and administrative law issues.

Paul has appeared before all levels of Courts of Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal. He also has extensive mediation and arbitral experience.

He is also a member of the Advocates’ Society, where he has served as Chair of the Young Advocates’ Committee and Education Committee which oversees and conducts a variety of programs aimed to advance and hone the advocacy skills of its members.

Paul balances his law practice by pursuing his passions for golf, running, culinary and varied cultural interests in the arts. He served on the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation for ten years where he acted as a corporate fund raiser. He has now established his own annual golf tournament, Shoot For PAR, which raises funds for research and development in the treatment and eventual cure of cancer. Shoot For PAR has raised funds in excess of $500,000 to date.
